How do I get a flat pattern DXF for laser cutting from a STEP file?
Upload the STEP file at rajz.fedeworks.com. Lemezrajz detects the sheet thickness and the bends, calculates the flat length with a K-factor per bend, and returns a 1:1 scale DXF with the cutting contour, bend lines and countersinks on separate layers. No need to convert the part to a sheet metal model or unfold it manually in CAD.
Which file do I need to upload?
A STEP file (AP214 or AP242), which any CAD system can export. You can upload a single sheet metal part or a complete assembly; assemblies are split into sheet metal parts. Up to 20 files at once.
What does the generated drawing contain?
Per part: PDF shop drawing in first-angle projection with isometric view and dimensioned flat pattern; bend table (direction, angle, inner radius, allowance); hole table with X/Y coordinates; parts list including press-in fasteners; ISO 5457 sheet, ISO 7200 title block, ISO 2768-m general tolerances. Plus a drawing DXF and a 1:1 flat pattern DXF – all in one ZIP.
How is the flat pattern calculated – what is the K-factor?
The K-factor defines where the neutral axis lies within the sheet thickness; the developed length of each bend follows from it (flat length = straight segments + π/2 × (R + K × t) per 90° bend). Lemezrajz chooses the K-factor per bend from material, thickness and inner radius, or uses a fixed value. With a partner plan it can use the workshop’s own K-factors and tooling, so the flat pattern is right at the first cut.
Does it handle assemblies and press-in fasteners (PEM, BSO)?
Yes. Every sheet metal part of an assembly STEP gets its own drawing. Press-in PEM and BSO fasteners appear with part numbers on their sheet’s drawing and parts list; removable screws, nuts and washers are left out.
How much does Lemezrajz cost?

What happens to the uploaded model?
The uploaded model is deleted after processing, and the drawings shortly afterwards. The server runs in the EU (Frankfurt). An NDA is available on request.
Can the drawings go straight to production?
The drawings are machine-generated and must be checked before manufacturing; the operator of the drawing generator accepts no liability for them. If a part is recognised with uncertainty, the drawing says so.
Do I need CAD software or an installation?
No. Lemezrajz runs in the browser without installation. All you need is the STEP file, which the designer can export from any CAD system. Drawings can be in English, Hungarian or bilingual.
